Here’s a handy checklist to help you plan your own event.
Decide what to do
Remember that fundraising should be FUN so do something that you enjoy! If you are a good baker or cook, perhaps you can hold a bake sale, or teach people how to cook your favourite recipe. If you like quizzes, maybe you can host your own quiz night.
Once you have chosen your fundraising activity you’d like to do then register your event with us so that we can help support you and send you promotional materials if required.
Set a date
Decide when and where your fundraising will take place. Remember to consider the weather and have a Plan B, just in case!
Set yourself a fundraising target
Let everyone know how much you want to raise. You can find out how your support helps to make a difference to PSPA and the people that we support.
Set up a JustGiving page
It only takes a few minutes to set up a Just Giving page and it’s quick and easy to share with friends directly and on social media. The money donated will come directly to us, so you don’t have to worry about sending it to us either!
Know why you want to fundraise
You are fundraising for a worthy cause, don’t forget that! Remember why you are fundraising, who you are doing it for and what your aim is! It will keep you motivated, and motivate others too.
Spread the word
We’ve all heard the saying, the more the merrier! This is a good sentiment to stick to, when holding a fundraiser. Let everyone know that you are planning to hold a fundraiser; they may be able to help. Fundraising buddies will lighten the load, plus you can use their available resources, too!

Your event was a success – well done and thank you! Count up all the money you’ve raised and collect any sponsorship, say a big thank you to all your supporters and pay in the money you’ve raised.
