Fundraising with PSPA
Fundraising with PSPA means more than just supporting our efforts to help those living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD). It means becoming their lifeline and ensuring they have access to vital support, information and a community that can help them better navigate their journey with a rare neurodegenerative disease.
Every pound you help raise goes towards providing better and more accessible Helpline services, Support Group meetings, and research opportunities that improve awareness, diagnosis and care for people affected by PSP & CBD.
We understand that life can feel overwhelming when a loved one first receives a diagnosis. You may feel helpless and unable to process the implications of a CBD or PSP diagnosis. But fundraising for our charity can give you something to focus on and harness your energies towards helping the whole PSP & CBD community. Whether it’s training for a physical event or organising a tea party fundraiser, there are many ways to get involved and help.
This page will provide inspiration on the different ways to fundraise, what support is available and how you can get involved.
You can also make a donation to PSPA in any of the following ways:
- Donate over the phone, through the website or by post
- Set up a regular giving amount

PSPA fundraising stories
Community fundraising
Michael Tulip
Event: Pokémon movie day event
Michael organised a fundraiser in October 2025 and brought his community together for a fun Pokémon movie day in memory of his father who lost his battle against PSPA in April 2025. The heart-warming gathering was attended by volunteers, neighbours, friends and families, and managed to raise much more than the target amount.
“People came from far and wide to support the PSPA at my Pokémon movie day. Volunteers, family and friends all came; it was an emotional day for everyone! But we had so much fun and got the word out there about what PSP is as well as raising funds for the cause.”
Challenge fundraising
Tomos Northey
Event: Swansea Half Marathon 2025
Tomos Northey and his friends took on the Swansea Half Marathon in honour of his mum Andrea, who was diagnosed with PSP and had previously run the half marathon twice. Family and friends came out in support for Tomos and Andrea, raising an amazing £3,200.
“Fundraising is deeply personal to me as my mum has PSP. It gives me both a sense of accomplishment and a positive distraction… It’s probably the best decision I’ve made, as it not only helps raise vital funds but also creates an opportunity to open up about being personally affected.”
