Introducing Lavonne, PSPA Volunteer Coordinator

Hello! And welcome to the first volunteer blog.

For those of you whom I have not met yet, I’m Lavonne, PSPA’s Volunteer Coordinator.

I’m currently in my 7th week with the charity now! I’ve had contact with quite a few of you already, either via zoom or email, and I hope to “meet” a lot more of you over the next few months or so.

My focus at the moment is the Link Volunteer Service. This service launched last year and offers short term support, in person and over the phone, for individuals living with PSP & CBD and their carers, who are going through a time of crisis or who have been newly diagnosed.

Our Link Volunteers provide emotional support, information and signposting to other organisations who may be able to help.

I am currently helping to grow the service across the UK, so am busy recruiting for Link Volunteers. If you know of anyone who may be interested, take a look at the role description, here.

If you want more info or a chat, just drop me a line, here.

I’m looking forward to getting to know the Support Group Coordinators and Educational Volunteers soon. I am also hoping to visit some of the Support Group meetings throughout the year and UK. It will be great to travel to your part of the country and see how your group works.

Another couple of things to get excited about and where I may meet a few more of you are at our 30 for 30 event in March and our Family and Friends Day in Leeds this spring.

Well that’s all from me for now so I’ll sign off from my very first blog!

Do email or call me if your interested in becoming a Link Volunteer or if there’s anything else I can help with.

Best,

Lavonne
