The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is opening its Programme Grants for Applied Research on 7 October 2025. This funding opportunity is a ring-fenced call for programmes of applied health research that is designed to respond to the NIHR PGfAR brief: “Research inspired by under-represented disciplines and specialisms to drive transformational changes for patients and the public”. The funding decision is based on several criteria including quality, timeliness, potential impact, plans to address inclusivity and value for money. This is a two-stage, researcher-led funding opportunity. If you would like to learn more and how to apply, please visit the NIHR website.
