We are excited to announce the launch of Pathway to Progress 2026! In 2025, our supporters raised a fantastic £96,050 through their Pathway to Progress fundraising challenges. This year, we hope to take it further and raise £100,000 to fund vital research, strengthen our support services, and help people with PSP & CBD feel less alone in their journey. The 2026 Pathway to Progress will also be a UK-wide virtual challenge event where participants’ collective distances walked, run, or cycled will be logged to create a pathway around Great Britain’s coastline. To celebrate and kickstart Pathway to Progress, we are organising an in-person launch event on 28 March from 12:30 PM to 4 PM, at Willen Lake, Milton Keynes. If you haven’t already, here’s your chance to register for the event and be a part of this journey.
What is PSPA’s Pathway to Progress?
As part of this special community fundraising event, we invite everyone from across the UK to create your own charity walk or join an existing team to make a difference and show your support for people living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Corticobasal Degeneration. We aim to engage individuals, teams, and schools in a health-focused challenge to walk, run or ride as far as they can. Every small step you take helps us improve our services and provide better support through regular support group meetings, improved awareness and education of healthcare professionals, consistent community support and communication through our magazine, PSPA Matters, and fund vital PSP & CBD research.
What can you expect at the Pathway to Progress launch event?
The Pathway to Progress 2026 launch event is both a celebration of the success of last year’s fundraising efforts and the launch of the 2026 fundraising challenge event. It is our way of thanking you for your support last year, and encouraging you and others to be a part of Pathway to Progress 2026 in your own way and do something incredible for loved ones with PSP or CBD.
The event will be attended by the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor James Lancaster.
Our ambassador this year, Leslie Ferrar, will also be present on the launch day to talk about her aunt’s PSP diagnosis and how organising a Pathway to Progress fundraising event helped her come to terms with the challenges and isolation that come with the condition, while making a real difference. Leslie completed a staggering 630-mile trek in 2025, raising over £20,000 to fight PSP & CBD, and we are proud to have her as the ambassador for Pathway to Progress 2026.
We will also have a small PSPA pop-up shop on the day, featuring some of our most popular shop items, if you wish to purchase any of our merchandise on the day and show your support for PSPA. You will also be able to buy refreshments and food from Willen Lake Café and enjoy the scenic lake setting as we kickstart 2026 Pathway to Progress.
So come along with your loved ones and furry friends for a wonderful afternoon at Willen Lake, support PSPA and help us create a better future for those living with PSP & CBD.
