PSPA Online Exercises Class with Neuro Heroes
PSPA is excited to be working in collaboration with Neuro Heroes to deliver regular Online Exercise Classes as part of our Mind, Body, Soul project.
Neuro Heroes is an online Neuro gym, providing live exercise sessions over Zoom run by Specialist Neuro Physiotherapists.
Since April 2024, Neuro Heroes offers one CBD class and one PSP class a week, for anyone who lives with either of the conditions and is registered with PSPA.
The sessions aim to educate and demonstrate the importance of exercise and being active to help manage common symptoms people experience with PSP & CBD.
The classes will work on flexibility, strength, fitness and balance and participants will be given feedback during the class to improve form and technique. Throughout the class the instructor will provide options to exercise in sitting or standing, to ensure everyone gets a good workout, at a suitable level.
Each participant will be entitled to eight sessions initially, however, you can access ongoing classes as availability allows.

“Joining PSPA’s Exercise Session has been good fun and has given me a new range of exercises to do.
“Previously I’d been part of a Parkinson’s exercise class, but much of what they did was not appropriate for me. As well as tailoring exercises for my condition, Neuro Heroes provide helpful feedback during the class to help with things we find difficult.” Beth, living with CBD.
The PSPA Online Exercise Sessions are kindly supported by the National Lottery Community Fund.

What do the online exercise classes involve?
The classes focus on improving flexibility, strength, fitness and balance. Yes. Exercises can be adapted for both sitting and standing, so you can participate in a way that is safe and comfortable for you. The sessions are suitable for all abilities, and instructors will provide options so you can take part at a level that feels right for you.
There are several classes available. Once an assessment is submitted, the physios discuss and decide which class is the best fit for you. For example, someone with less mobility is put in the seated exercise class. More able-bodied people are split into classes for people with PSP and classes for people with CBD, as their needs can differ.
