The Isle of Wight Support Group is run by PSPA volunteer, Becky Gell.
The group meets on a monthly basis to provide support to local people living with PSP, CBD, their families and carers. It is a place to meet and give mutual support to each other as well as having the opportunity to chat informally and make new friends.
In February, we are also trialling an evening online Support Group meeting to help connect people who are unable to attend the in-person meetings.
The John Cheverton Centre is based within the Mountbatten Isle of Wight Hospice. The hospice is a short distance from Newport town centre at PO30 2ER.
Onsite parking is free of charge at the Mountbatten Hospice but can be limited during peak times.
Yes! Support Group meetings welcome people living with PSP & CBD and also their family members, friends and carers.
To help you understand how PSP & CBD may impact you and your family, we have produced a handy guide to the conditions.
As well as information about the conditions, you will find details to help you get to grips with the changes in your symptoms and plan ahead.
If you would like one-to-one support to help you come to terms with your diagnosis, or tackle a particular challenge, our Link Volunteer Service can help.
As part of the service, you will be linked with a trained PSPA Volunteer in your area who can provide support and information in-person or over the phone.
