Pathway to Progress Launch Event
Join us on 28 March as we kick off the 2026 Pathway to Progress with our very own in-person launch event!
Bring your loved ones and furry friends along for a fun-packed day, walking around the beautiful Willen Lake, with the PSPA Team! We’ll be celebrating the success of the 2025 Pathway to Progress, sharing the impact this has had since then, and enjoying some of the incredible community spirit we share with our supporters.
In 2025, the incredible fundraisers, donors and match funders who contributed to our Pathway to Progress campaign collectively raised a fantastic £96,050!
Whether or not you’ve participated in Pathway to Progress before, this is the perfect moment to get involved, meet fellow fundraisers, and kick-start this next chapter with us by doing a 5km walk around Willen Lake.
This will be followed by a few words from our special guests, MK Mayor James Lancaster, PSPA CEO James Cusack, and Event Ambassador Leslie Ferrar. We will conclude the event with an exciting raffle draw! With multiple prizes to be won, all hand-selected by PSPA staff, you won’t want to miss out!

Venue and Accessibility
Accessibility Features
Willen Lake’s Watersports Centre offers excellent accessibility with level access, lifts, accessible toilets, and a dedicated Changing Places facility, fit with an adjustable bed, hoist, and shower. The wider lake features flat paths, disabled parking, and accessible play areas, though some operators’ activities and routes (like steep gradients) need direct contact, with detailed guides available on the Willen Lake website.
FAQs
What can I expect on the Pathway to Progress launch event day?
The event will begin with a 5km walk around the beautiful Willen Lake (shorter 3km route also available), with plenty of time to socialise with our wonderful community of supporters and take in the scenic views together. This will be followed by a few words from some special guests, including MK Mayor James Lancaster, PSPA CEO James Cusack, and Pathway to Progress 2026 Ambassador Leslie Ferrar. We will close the day with an exciting raffle!
When will the raffle be drawn and what will it include?
The raffle will be drawn towards the end of the event, around 3:30 to 4:00 PM, in the event space above the Willen Lake Cafe. The ticket prices will be as follows:
- 1 x strip = £2
- 3 x strips =£5
Tickets will be available to purchase on the day, before and after the 5km walk, from PSPA staff.
Raffle prices will include:
- First Prize – Treat Yourself Hamper! Including contributions from the Milton Keynes BodyShop team, stunning glassware donated by supporter Steven Callender, and a selection of extra gifts to really Treat Yourself.
- Second Prize – PSPA Goodie Bag! Filled with our staff picks and favourite shop items.
Where can I park at Willen Lake?
There are many options for parking near Willen Lake. We recommend the Willen Lake South Car Park and the Willen Lake A Car Park. These are the closest parking options to the meeting point, Willen Lake Café. See here for parking charges. Disabled parking is also available.
Will I be able to buy PSPA merchandise on the day?
Yes! We will have a small PSPA pop-up shop on the day, featuring some of our most popular shop items. If you want to purchase anything on the day, we will accept cash or card payments.
Will refreshments be provided on the day?
Unfortunately, refreshments will not be provided at this event. However, we encourage attendees to grab a drink or explore the delicious food options available at Willen Lake Café.
What do I do when I arrive?
Make your way over to the courtyard outside the Willen Lake Café & Watersports Centre. We will get you signed in and up to the event space, where we will welcome everyone before the excitement begins!
Will the event be accessible / wheelchair friendly?
Yes! All Lakeside paths and the figure of eight route we have planned are completely wheelchair accessible and flat. There is a smaller, circular route (around Willen Lake South only), should anyone not want to do the full 5km walk. The event space we have booked above the Willen Lake Café is also very accessible, fitted with a lift as well as stairs.
Can I bring my dogs?
Absolutely, Willen Lake is very dog-friendly. However, the event space we have booked in the Watersports centre is NOT dog-friendly. This shouldn’t stop attendees from bringing their pets, as dogs are welcome in the cosy café space as well as the outdoor seating areas.
