Caring for a family member or friend can present unique rewards and challenges.
To provide you with opportunities for connecting with other men caring for a loved one who is living with PSP or CBD, we now host a monthly online support group.
The group is hosted by PSPA Volunteer, David Pugh, who uses his own experience of caring for his wife, to help start conversations, and encourage the sharing of information, feelings and tips.
Dates and timings of the monthly Men’s Carers Support Group can be found below.

DAVID PUGH
Support Group Coordinator
“I volunteer with PSPA as a Link Volunteer and host to the Men’s Carers Support Group. I feel I can provide support, having a full understanding of what PSP & CBD(S) impose on a carer, physically, emotionally and mentally with the added debilitating lack of sleep.
“The Men’s Carers Support Group affords opportunities for members to gain knowledge and exchange experiences, learning from each other, ways of navigating difficulties, all being at different stages of the progressions. There is an unspoken understanding between everyone of the pressures these conditions impose on a carers life.
“I live in Ayr, South Ayrshire, Scotland. I cared for my wife Rosalind, who had PSP seven years from first symptoms, three years from diagnosis including two of these under COVID lockdown.”
